Facebook and Twitter Have the Right to be Fascist

There’s been a lot of hullabaloo the past few days since Facebook banned some controversial activists – Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer, Alex Jones, Paul Joseph Watson, and Louis Farrakhan – for what Facebook called promoting or engaging in violence or hate. Other pages were apparently taken down at the same time, with no notice or announcement given by Facebook. Dan O’Donnell o News/Talk 1130 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin reported the Wisconsin Conservative Union Facebook page was also removed without warning.

Newstalk 1130 – “I was surprised by this,” said Wisconsin Conservative Union administrator Bob Dohnal, who said on The Dan O’Donnell Show that a friend called him Thursday night to let him know that his page had vanished. “It’s about 2,000 of the conservative leaders around this state. Nobody is talking about revolution or anything like that. It’s just been a place where everybody can exchange ideas and talk about candidacies and stuff.”

Dohnal added that he never received any warnings […] → Keep reading

Roseanne Debacle Shows Trump Derangement Syndrome Goes Both Ways

For more than a year and a half now, the left has been suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome. If you’re not familiar with that term, a user-entry in the Urban Dictionary defines it as “a mental dysfunction causing those detractors with hateful thoughts and feelings about Donald Trump to go unhinged.”

Justin Raimondo wrote a piece in the LA Times back in December 2016, in which he outlines the varying stages of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

In the first stage of the disease, victims lose all sense of proportion. The president-elect’s every tweet provokes a firestorm, as if 140 characters were all it took to change the world.

The mid-level stages of TDS have a profound effect on the victim’s vocabulary: Sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting solely of hyperbole.

As TDS progresses, the afflicted lose the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality.

In the advanced stages of the disease, the afflicted lose touch with reality. Opinion is unmoored from […] → Keep reading

The Murderous Left: Emulating the Taliban

There seems to be a growing number of threats lately on Twitter and other social media outlets to riot, assassinate, murder or firebomb conservatives or Republican candidates. Most of these threats are directed at Mitt Romney but there have also been threats directed at other conservative candidates or even people simply using social media to promote conservative ideals. Launching a hate-filled, profanity laden diatribe is nothing new for the left, but the influx of death threats and promises to assassinate are becoming disturbingly common.

Many news outlets have been reporting the threats against Mitt Romney, quoting mostly Twitter users in their criminal threats of assassination. The Examiner has many examples. Here are a few:

“I wana shoot mitt Romney (sic),” threatened “Brick Chaney.” “Someone shoot Mitt Romney,” tweeted “bow_Tye.” “Ruaridh Pond” wrote: “Someone needs to shoot Mitt Romney. I’d pay d**n good money.” “[S]eriously,” tweeted another user, “Mitt Romney needs to die.” User “Gavin” expressed hatred for Mormons and said […] → Keep reading

Jail For A Tweet: Coming to America?

A few weeks ago a 21 year old British man was sentenced to 56 days in jail after being found guilty of inciting racial hatred. His crime? A tweet.

After a British soccer player collapsed on the field due to a heart attack, Liam Stacey sent a tweet that said, “LOL. F*** Muamba he’s dead!!! #haha.”

He was arrested by police the following day. The judge who sentenced Stacey called his comment “vile and abhorrent.”

Meanwhile, back here in the States, the legislature in Arizona has passed House Bill 2549, which would include electronic or digital devices in an existing state law that makes it illegal to threaten or harass someone using a telephone. Using a cell phone, tablet or computer to communicate obscene, lewd or profane language would be a violation of the law if that communication is done with the intent to annoy, offend or terrify.

Annoy? Offend? Really?

Using that criteria, most of the users […] → Keep reading
