Trump Is Right and He’s Done Republicans A Huge Service

Donald Trump’s comments about illegal immigrants seem to be dominating the news lately. The media have made it the story and have taken great glee in reporting about the backlash The Donald is receiving for what he said. Macy’s, Serta mattresses, Univision, NASCAR and NBC have all either cut ties with Trump or announced they will be terminating agreements with him. My first thought after reading all that was to wonder how in the world Donald Trump has his own line of Serta mattresses. Who would want that? But I digress. The Donald doesn’t seem to care about all the damage, saying on Fox & Friends, “I think it’s bad for my brand. I don’t care. You know maybe I’m leading in the polls, but this is certainly not good. I lose customers. I lose people.”

But what exactly was it he said that has made him the target of all this backlash? I’ve seen it misquoted on a few […] → Keep reading

The Real War On Women – Democrats and Abortion

Late last week the press threw a gotcha question about abortion at Senator Rand Paul and he responded by challenging them to get an answer from Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

“Here’s the deal—we always seen to have the debate waaaaay over here on what are the exact details of exemptions, or when it starts,” said Paul, waving his hands to the left. “Why don’t we ask the DNC: Is it okay to kill a seven-pound baby in the uterus? You go back and you ask Debbie Wasserman Schultz if she’s OK with killing a seven-pound baby that is not born yet. Ask her when life begins, and you ask Debbie when it’s okay to protect life. When you get an answer from Debbie, get back to me.”

She responded and made it clear that she wants no restrictions on abortion.

Lifenews – “Here’s an answer,” said Schultz. “I support letting women and their doctors make […] → Keep reading

The Withering Support for Israel

Last week the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church voted 310-303 to sell stock in Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard and Motorola Solutions in order to divest their investments from corporations they deem to be supportive of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank. The press release from the Presbyterian Church said the three companies in question are alleged to be engaging in “non-peaceful pursuits.” There have been previous attempts at the General Assembly to pass the divestment but the vote always failed until this year. The Presbyterians are now the most prominent religious group in the United States to use divestment as a protest against the Israeli occupation and its policies toward Palestinians. Although their press release attempts to claim otherwise, by divesting from Israel the Presbyterians are symbolically aligning themselves with Hamas. The same Hamas that continually launches rockets into Israel and that just kidnapped and murdered three Israeli youths.

The press release also states that before […] → Keep reading
