Less than a week ago you couldn’t find a news story about the Confederate flag if you tried. Now there are numerous articles about the flag filling several pages of any Internet search. Everyone knows what the catalyst for all these stories has been. The murder of nine black people at a South Carolina church started all the clamor after it was revealed in the media that the murderer is a racist whose goal was to start a race war. Pictures surfaced of him displaying the Confederate battle flag and before you could say ‘way down south in Dixie’ there were politicians and talking-heads in the media calling for the removal of the flag from the grounds of the South Carolina Capitol. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley eventually made a public statement calling for the removal of the flag, saying, “it’s time.”
Is the flag a symbol of racism that should be removed? It depends who you ask. To […] → Keep reading

There have always been racists in our country and there always will be. Since before the founding of our country, through the days leading to the Civil War, the Jim Crow laws and the civil rights marches of the previous generation, racism has been front and center at times. Although our society as a whole abhors racism, there are still those who are openly racist and those who have learned to be more subtle about it, keeping their true feelings hidden, lest they face ridicule from the enlightened who know that skin color is irrelevant.
With the public reaction over the video showing their racist chants, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the University of Oklahoma has now learned that racism is unacceptable. Their fraternity has been disbanded by the fraternity’s national organization and banned by the University. University President David Boren has also elected to expel two students who were identified as leaders of the chant. The public […] → Keep reading

In West Point, MS, a former U.S. Marine went into a Waffle House late at night with a friend of his. As he went in a white man warned him not to enter because he is black. He went in anyway and was immediately set upon by whites and jeered at. He and his friend left the Waffle House and went down the street to a nearly vacant Huddle House. A crowd of white men followed them to the Huddle House and attacked them in the parking lot while screaming racial slurs. He was kicked in the head numerous times sustaining serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he was placed in a medically induced coma. His friend sustained broken bones in his face, a laceration over his left eye and a blood clot in his right eye.
The West Point Chief of Police Tim Brinkley, who is white, said the attack by the mob was not a […] → Keep reading

I suppose it was just a matter of time before this happened. To the liberals, everything is all about race and it seems like they’ve been shouting it more than usual lately. There’s racism in education, employment, sports, housing, entertainment, politics, religion… And, of course, we have all heard from countless liberals that anyone who opposes Obama is doing so based solely on the color of his skin. Ridiculous. And now the lefties at Think Progress have an article titled “Why Air Pollution Is A Racial Issue.” That’s right; they’re saying there’s racism in air. The article quotes from a study produced by Julian Marshall at the University of Minnesota. He posits that non-white people breathe air that is substantially more polluted than the air that white people breathe. His study released no data or statistics other than a chart showing what he claims is the average nitrogen dioxide exposure for whites and for nonwhites in each state and large […] → Keep reading

Baseball Hall of Famer and home run king Hank Aaron was speaking yesterday at an event celebrating his record-setting home run and he took the opportunity to compare Republicans who oppose Barack Obama to the Ku Klux Klan. After saying that Republicans are hindering Obama’s job performance he said, “Sure, this country has a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all the Republicans with the way he’s treated. The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.”
The real racists are the people like Hank Aaron who believe that it isn’t possible to oppose Obama for his actions without being a racist. I would ask Aaron and those like him, does this mean that when you opposed George W. Bush that you did so based solely on his white skin, which makes you a racist? Is that what these people truly believe, that political […] → Keep reading

Those on the left have always made themselves the self-appointed authorities on all things where race can be injected. By them, of course. And now that includes a photo of Mitt Romney, his wife and their grandchildren. In case you missed it, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry has issued an apology to the Romney family after a panel on her show mocked Romney for the fact that one of his grandchildren is black. They laughed as a ‘comedian’ joked that the baby is the only one in a sea of white – just like the Republican Party. Harris wrote in her apology that “the intent of featuring the photo was to celebrate it.” And if you believe that you’re probably still believing that you can keep your health plan if you like it. CNN Analyst Marc Lamont Hill also jumped in, saying, “Some would say maybe that it’s an exploitative picture, that they’re exploiting the kid by hauling out this black […] → Keep reading
