The Times of Israel is reporting that Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz has distributed a document listing ten questions that were said to highlight “the extent of the irresponsible concessions given to Iran” and to make it clear just how ineffective this deal will be. After reading the questions I have to wonder just what exactly was it that the U.S. negotiating team led by Secretary of State John Kerry got the Iranians to give up. It appears the Iranians area getting everything they could possible want.
1. Why are sanctions that took years to put in place being removed immediately (as the Iranians claim)? This would take away the international community’s primary leverage at the outset of the agreement and make Iranian compliance less likely.
2. Given Iran’s track record of concealing illicit nuclear activities, why does the framework not explicitly require Iran to accept inspections of all installations where suspected nuclear weapons development has been conducted? […] → Keep reading

It’s no secret that President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu dislike each other. Obama’s disdain for Netanyahu comes from his inability to control Netanyahu and force him into agreements with the Palestinians which would harm Israel’s security interests. Giving up settlements, land, security measures and restrictions that prevent terrorists from infiltrating Israel are things that Netanyahu has steadfastly refused to do. Obama’s handling of the nuclear situation with Iran also has harmed relations with Netanyahu. I suspect it is only because of secret threats from Obama that Israel hasn’t attacked Iran and destroyed their nuclear program, as so many of Israel’s military leaders have said needs to happen. Obama’s extended ‘negotiations’ with Iran have done nothing but allow them to continue their nuclear program unabated, with everyone knowing their goal is an eventual nuclear weapon. Netanyahu clearly knows the risks, not only to Israel, but to the United States, were Iran to acquire one or more nuclear weapons. […] → Keep reading

I saw an article recently that described two different types of left – evil and stupid – and said that all leftists fall into one of those two categories. I’m of the opinion there is a third type – bleeding heart. While the evil left has sinister and secret motives for what they do and the stupid blindly believe whatever lies they are told, the bleeding hearts know the truth, or at least most of it, but support leftist ideals anyway because they believe it’s governments job to ‘help’ people. While these three types of leftists have differing reasons for the mutual things they support, they work together in harmony against their common enemies – conservatives, freedom, capitalism and the liberty on which our country was founded.
The evil left knows Obamacare is designed to destroy the health care insurance industry and bring about single-payer, giving government total control over the country’s health care. The stupid left believes the lies […] → Keep reading

It comes as no surprise that the Obama administration’s negotiations with Iran are throwing Israel under the bus and could end up forcing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to make a unilateral decision about how to deal with Iran’s nuclear program. Iranian lawmaker and cleric Muhammad Nabavian says negotiations with the United States are “90 percent complete” and the nuclear deal is reportedly set to be enacted on January 20. However, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has been using their lobbying power in the U.S. Senate in an attempt to derail the deal.
Washington Times – The Senate measure, sponsored by Sens. Robert Menendez, New Jersey Democrat; Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat; and Mark Kirk, Illinois Republican, would impose potent new sanctions if the final agreement accords Iran the right of peaceful enrichment. That probably would destroy Mr. Obama’s ability to reach an agreement. Iranian President Hasan Rouhani already is under pressure from his country’s hard-liners to […] → Keep reading

Daniel Pipes of the Middle East Forum has an interesting take on the situation with Syria. And that is to forget Syria and target the real threat in the Middle East – Iran. He rightly states that Syrian chemical weapons and their use pale in comparison to the danger and possible horror of Iranian nuclear weapons. He also points out a thought I have had all along, that being that while the deaths of 1,429 by chemical weapons is appalling, it is not worse than killing one hundred times that many through other means, including torture. Pipes sees three possible courses of action that can be taken and the benefits and consequences of each.
1. Knock off the Assad regime. Attractive in itself, especially because it takes out Tehran’s No. 1 ally and disrupts supply lines to Hizbullah, this scenario opens a can of worms: anarchy in Syria, foreign intervention by neighbors, the prospect of Al-Qaeda-connected Islamists taking […] → Keep reading

International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde warned earlier this week that oil prices could spike by 30 percent if supplies from Iran were disrupted, which would cause “serious consequences” for the global economy.
“Clearly it would be a shock to economies if there was a major shortage of exports of oil out of Iran; it would certainly drive up prices for a period of time,” Lagarde told reporters.
The stiff sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States and the European Union have caused tensions with Iran, which rejects accusations that it is developing an atomic bomb from their nuclear program.
Iran has threatened to retaliate against the West, including a possible disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a busy shipping lane for oil.
Lagarde didn’t directly say that Iran should be left alone to complete their nuclear program, but her economic prediction would certainly seem to be a warning to back off or suffer the economic […] → Keep reading

So many people in the United States take freedom of religion for granted. Reading about this Christian in Iran, persecuted for his beliefs, is chilling. I hope all Christians who learn of his situation will pray for him and his family.
The Iranian supreme court has annulled the death sentence for Yousef Nadarkhani, a 35 year old Christian who has been in custody almost two years and was given a death sentence for converting to Christianity from Islam.
Nadarkhani was arrested after he protested a government policy requiring children, including his two sons, to study the Quran in school. Nadarkhani told school officials that the Iranian constitution allows for freedom of religious practice. After his protest, secret police called him before a political tribunal and arrested him. He was charged with apostasy and evangelism of Muslims and was sentenced to death by hanging.
The supreme court sent the case back to the lower court after the annulment, asking Nadarkhani […] → Keep reading
