Jesus was wrong. So says His Excellency Barack the 1st.
At the Catholic-Evangelical Leadership Summit yesterday, Obama quotes part of a verse from the Gospel of Matthew in a manner directly opposite of what Jesus is quoted as having said. I’m sure the Obama worshippers will claim his remark was taken out of context, so here is a transcript of what he said.
“One of the things I’m always concerned about is cynicism,” Obama said. “My chief of staff, Denis McDonough, we take walks around the South Lawn, usually when the weather is good. And a lot of it is policy talk, sometimes it’s just talk about values. And one of our favorite sayings is our job is to guard against cynicism, particularly in this town. And I think it’s important for us to guard against cynicism and not buy the idea that the poor will always be with us and there’s nothing we can do, because there’s a […] → Keep reading

Last Friday the owners of the Sweet Cakes by Melissa bakery in Oregon learned the price of freedom of religion – $135,000. That’s the amount that Aaron and Melissa Klein have been ordered to pay to the two lesbians who requested the Kleins make a cake for their lesbian wedding. The Kleins declined on the grounds that doing so would be a violation of their religious beliefs. The lesbians complained to the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries that the cake refusal was “mental rape” and that the Kleins had hurt their feelings.
Christian News – According to the Daily Signal, the two women, who have been identified as Rachel Cryer and Laurel Bowman, submitted individual lists of just under 100 aspects of suffering in order to receive the damages. They included “mental rape,” “distrust of men,” “distrust of former friends,” “discomfort,” “high blood pressure,” “impaired digestion,” “loss of appetite,” “migraine headaches,” “loss of pride,” “resumption of smoking habit,” “shock” […] → Keep reading

Christian life in America is changing and not for the better. No, I will not say Christians are being persecuted in our country. Not yet, anyway. After reading of the treatment Christians are receiving in the Middle East from ISIS and other Muslim murderers, anyone claiming that Christians in America are being persecuted doesn’t understand what true persecution is. Christians in America are not being persecuted, but they are most definitely being subjected to discrimination, harassment and prosecution, with almost all of it coming because of the Christian view that homosexuality is an abominable sin.
The Christian opposition to homosexual marriage has resulted in a cultural civil war with the media, the homosexuals and the rest of the liberals on one side and the Christians on the other side. With a few exceptions, the Republican apparatus has been weak in their support of religious liberty. Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson sent a religious freedom bill back to the legislature to be […] → Keep reading

Last week the Presbyterian Church USA (not to be confused with the Presbyterian Church In America) voted to amend its constitution to allow homosexual marriages. A statement was added to officially recognize “a commitment between two people,” making the Presbyterian Church USA the largest protestant church to approve homosexual marriage.
The move was endorsed last summer by the church’s General Assembly, but the formal change required approval from a majority of the church’s districts. Of the 171 districts, the 86th vote for the change came last week from a district in New Jersey. The change will take effect on June 21. Not all members are happy with the change and this was apparently anticipated by whoever wrote the language to amend the church constitution. It includes a provision stating that clergy cannot be compelled to preside at homosexual weddings or host a homosexual wedding ceremony on church grounds.
The Mormon Church is also changing their position on homosexual marriage. The […] → Keep reading

The transformation of our society has made it inadvisable for Christians to enter into certain professions, lest they be forced to violate their religious principles or face the wrath of the heathens and the government (redundant?) for not doing so. I’m speaking, of course, about the multitude of incidents of late wherein a business owner providing services related to weddings has refused upon principles of Christianity to fulfill a request to do so due to the marriage being of two homosexuals. Cake makers, florists, wedding venue owners and photographers in various states around our nation have been castigated, harassed, protested, shut down, sued and had discrimination complaints filed on them for refusing to provide services in support of homosexual weddings. Some have had to close their businesses; some have been fined; some have been ordered to pay thousands of dollars to the ‘wronged’ homosexuals; and some are still going through the process of having their lives and businesses destroyed because […] → Keep reading

Unless you’ve been in a coma you’re probably seen dozens and dozens of videos of people doing the ice bucket challenge in recent weeks. For the uninformed, here’s how it works. Within 24 hours of being challenged, people are supposed to video themselves dumping ice water over their heads or having someone else dump ice water over their heads. The video is supposed to include the person saying they accept the challenge followed by the pouring of the ice water over their heads. The person then gets to challenge other people to do the same. Those taking the challenge are supposed to donate ten dollars to ALS research or decline the challenge and donate one hundred dollars.
The ALS Association is the charity most associated with the ice bucket challenge and is the principal charity benefitting from it, having received over $100 million in donations since the challenge began. But what is it they’re funding? Christians taking the challenge and […] → Keep reading

A not-so-surprising Pew Research Center Poll has shown that Democrats fear the fictional man-made global warming more than the Islamic terrorist group, ISIS. Sixty-eight percent of Democrats polled said global warming is a major threat to the U.S. while only sixty-five percent said the same for ISIS. If the ISIS terrorists read this they will be horrified to think that there are Americans who fear weather more than them.
While I was pondering the implications of this poll it occurred to me that ISIS has qualities that should appeal to those on the left. They may even want to send volunteers to the Middle East to conduct voter outreach and registration drives.
The two main things that ISIS is known for is their savage butchery and beheadings, and their attempt to wipe out Christianity from the areas which they control. If you don’t see where I’m going yet, stay with me on this.
To my mind, the butchery […] → Keep reading

The gaystapo strikes again. Political Realities recently posted about two Christians in New York who own the Liberty Ridge Farm and host events such as weddings and receptions. When two lesbians contacted them about holding their gay wedding on the premises the farm owners declined, based on their Christian convictions against same-sex marriage. The lesbians filed a complaint with the New York Human Rights Commission, which ruled against the Christians and said since the farm is a public accommodation they are not allowed to discriminate against homosexuals. They further ordered the owners, Robert and Cynthia Gifford, to pay a $10,000 fine, give $1,500 to each lesbian and send all their staff to anti-discrimination re-education classes.
And now the Giffords have announced they will “no longer host any wedding ceremonies on their property.” They would rather do that and stay true to their convictions than be compelled by the government to violate their religious principles and host homosexual weddings.
The Blaze […] → Keep reading

Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, recently gave an interview to The Blaze in which he said that church denominations that have adopted more liberal attitudes to gay marriage and other issues “have no allegiance to the Bible,” describing them as “false churches,” “the apostate church,” and “Satan’s church.” He also described three types of Christianity – true, cultural and institutional. MacArthur said in his interview that cultural Christianity is in decline but I completely disagree with that. Cultural Christianity is growing by leaps and bounds and I believe the liberalization of church doctrine is a huge indication of this. Cultural Christians are those who, when asked, will say they are “Christian” for no other reason than they are American and don’t consider themselves atheist or Jewish. They identify themselves as Christians, perhaps because they do believe in God, but they are not biblically followers of Christ. A type of Christian not mentioned by MacArthur […] → Keep reading

The suspension of Phil Robertson from the Duck Dynasty television program by A&E has certainly been a huge story that has garnered a lot of attention. For those of you living in a cave, Robertson talked about his Christian faith in an interview for a magazine and spoke of homosexuality being a sin. A&E yielded to pressure from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and suspended him from his own show. The backlash was swift and sure with people all over the country supporting Robertson and some already organizing a boycott of A&E. As I watched my Twitter feed Wednesday night every other tweet seemed to be about Robertson and the censoring of his religious views by A&E. While GLAAD and other leftist groups preach tolerance and diversity they seem to forget their own admonitions when it comes to Christians and our beliefs. Apparently, tolerance and diversity is only allowed if you agree with them, their views and […] → Keep reading
