Chick-fil-A Faces Campus Opposition

Fast food chain Chick-fil-A continues to be attacked by liberals and faces opposition on numerous college campuses for it’s support of organizations labeled by liberals as hate groups. These groups include:

Family Research Council Exodus International Focus On the Family Fellowship of Christian Athletes Marriage & Family Legacy Fund

What makes these groups “hate groups”, the liberals say, is that they are all “anti-gay”.

Chick-fil-A has been blocked from opening a franchise on the campus of Boston’s Northeastern University. A small group of students complained about the organizations to which the company contributed. They followed their objections to allowing the chain on campus by gathering bout 300 signatures – 1.5% of the student body. The Student Government Association then voted 31-5 not to allow Chick-fil-A to become a vendor.

Chick-fil-A – Where’s the Beef?

Chick-fil-A operators in Pennsylvania recently donated food to a pro-marriage event run by the Pennsylvania Family Institute. The president of Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy defended the donation saying, “Operators simply agreed to provide sandwiches and brownies for the events as many Chick-fil-A franchisees have done over the years for community events, businesses and civic groups.”

However, the donation has not gone over well with gay rights advocates who accuse the restaurant chain of bigotry. Several websites and blogs for the LGBT community have leveled criticism at Chick-fil-A and one had a petition against the chain for promoting traditional marriage.

I think I will be having Chick-fil-A this evening and more frequently for lunch, now that a location has opened near my office.
