Obama Commutes Sentences for Drug Traffickers

On Thursday this week, the White House issued a press release saying that President Obama granted commutation to 72 federal inmates, a follow-up to the 98 commutations he granted last week. For his presidency, this is a total of 955 individuals, including 324 life sentences.

Part of the press release takes a shot at mandatory minimum sentences and calls for Congress to enact “broader reforms needed to ensure our federal sentencing system operates more fairly and effectively in the service of public safety.”

Hogwash.

Obama has now commuted the sentence for more federal prisoners than all other presidents since World War II combined. Reportedly, all of the prisoners were convicted of nonviolent drug offenses but some also were convicted for nonviolent weapons offenses.

White House counsel Neil Eggleston said in the press release, “The President is committed to reinvigorating the clemency authority, demonstrating that our nation is a nation of second chances, where mistakes from the past will not deprive […] → Keep reading

The Left’s Fascination With Che Guevara

Che Guevara was a Marxist guerrilla, communist, and murderer who led the Cuban revolution along with Fidel Castro, overthrowing Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista and plunging Cuba into decades of harsh, communist rule. Since January 1, 1959 when Batista fled Cuba, Fidel Castro and his brother Raul have driven millions into exile, kept their country in political and economic chains and imprisoned, tortured and executed thousands of people. As soon as Fidel Castro seized power along with Guevara, they began conducting mass executions inside two Cuban prisons. The body count is unknown, but Guevara himself admitted to ordering the executions of thousands of Cubans during the first year alone. Some who survived their prison sentences later told of Guevara frequently murdering the condemned himself by shooting them in the head with his pistol.

Guevara was a cold-blooded killer who enjoyed murdering. He wrote to his father and said, “I really like killing.” He once fired his gun into the belly […] → Keep reading

About That Empty Seat at the State of the Union

The White House has announced that there will be an empty seat next to Michelle Obama this evening at the State of the Union speech, to represent victims of gun violence. A White House official said the seat would be for “victims of gun violence who no longer have a voice – because they need the rest of us to speak for them.”

This isn’t all that surprising, considering the continuing war on guns and the 2nd Amendment that has been waged by this administration. Obama’s unconstitutional executive action on guns last week is just another assault on the right of citizens to be armed. The empty seat at tonight’s speech is a blatant appeal to emotion. Liberals have a history of using emotion, rather than pragmatism, to push their agenda and they’ve had success with that in the past. Pragmatism exposes liberal policies for the failures that they are and will never find a place in the liberal playbook.

Black Lives Don’t Matter

Since the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin, blacks and other liberals have thrown out the phrase ‘black lives matter’ all over social media, signs, broadcasts, graffiti and other places. When Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson after committing a robbery and attacking a police officer, the phrase received new impetus and has become a staple in the liberal lexicon. The people using it want everyone to believe that nobody cares about black lives but them. They use it as incitement to anger and justification for protests and riots, such as in Baltimore after the death of Freddie Gray. It’s a call to battle. A rallying cry. It’s a unifying phrase for blacks and liberals who decry ‘white privilege’ and the death of any black person at the hands of a white police officer, whether justified or not. But there’s just one problem with it.

They don’t mean it.

The ‘black lives matter’ meme is supposed […] → Keep reading

Obama Rebukes Jesus

Jesus was wrong. So says His Excellency Barack the 1st.

At the Catholic-Evangelical Leadership Summit yesterday, Obama quotes part of a verse from the Gospel of Matthew in a manner directly opposite of what Jesus is quoted as having said. I’m sure the Obama worshippers will claim his remark was taken out of context, so here is a transcript of what he said.

“One of the things I’m always concerned about is cynicism,” Obama said. “My chief of staff, Denis McDonough, we take walks around the South Lawn, usually when the weather is good. And a lot of it is policy talk, sometimes it’s just talk about values. And one of our favorite sayings is our job is to guard against cynicism, particularly in this town. And I think it’s important for us to guard against cynicism and not buy the idea that the poor will always be with us and there’s nothing we can do, because there’s a […] → Keep reading

Israel Has 10 Questions About the Iran Nuclear Deal

The Times of Israel is reporting that Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz has distributed a document listing ten questions that were said to highlight “the extent of the irresponsible concessions given to Iran” and to make it clear just how ineffective this deal will be. After reading the questions I have to wonder just what exactly was it that the U.S. negotiating team led by Secretary of State John Kerry got the Iranians to give up. It appears the Iranians area getting everything they could possible want.

1. Why are sanctions that took years to put in place being removed immediately (as the Iranians claim)? This would take away the international community’s primary leverage at the outset of the agreement and make Iranian compliance less likely.

2. Given Iran’s track record of concealing illicit nuclear activities, why does the framework not explicitly require Iran to accept inspections of all installations where suspected nuclear weapons development has been conducted? […] → Keep reading

Obama Sends Campaign Team to Israel to Defeat Netanyahu

It’s no secret that President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu dislike each other. Obama’s disdain for Netanyahu comes from his inability to control Netanyahu and force him into agreements with the Palestinians which would harm Israel’s security interests. Giving up settlements, land, security measures and restrictions that prevent terrorists from infiltrating Israel are things that Netanyahu has steadfastly refused to do. Obama’s handling of the nuclear situation with Iran also has harmed relations with Netanyahu. I suspect it is only because of secret threats from Obama that Israel hasn’t attacked Iran and destroyed their nuclear program, as so many of Israel’s military leaders have said needs to happen. Obama’s extended ‘negotiations’ with Iran have done nothing but allow them to continue their nuclear program unabated, with everyone knowing their goal is an eventual nuclear weapon. Netanyahu clearly knows the risks, not only to Israel, but to the United States, were Iran to acquire one or more nuclear weapons. […] → Keep reading

Obama Praises the Mosque of the Oklahoma Beheader

Late last month, Colleen Hufford was at work at Vaughan Food Distribution in Moore, Oklahoma when Jah’Keem Yisrael (Alton Nolen) rushed into the building, stabbed her multiple times, then cut off her head. He had just been fired for getting into arguments with coworkers about stoning women. He is said to have gone home to retrieve his knife, then returned to the business where he beheaded Hufford and began stabbing another woman before he was shot by the COO of Vaughan Foods, Mark Vaughan. Vaughan is also an Oklahoma County reserve sheriff’s deputy.

Witnesses to the beheading said Yisrael was shouting Islamic phrases during the attack. He had recently converted to Islam while in prison and was attending the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City. This is the same mosque attended by Zacharias Moussaoui, who was to have been the 20th hijacker on 9/11. A former member of this mosque shared some chilling information about it with Fox’s Megyn […] → Keep reading

Media Ignores Black On White Crime

In West Point, MS, a former U.S. Marine went into a Waffle House late at night with a friend of his. As he went in a white man warned him not to enter because he is black. He went in anyway and was immediately set upon by whites and jeered at. He and his friend left the Waffle House and went down the street to a nearly vacant Huddle House. A crowd of white men followed them to the Huddle House and attacked them in the parking lot while screaming racial slurs. He was kicked in the head numerous times sustaining serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he was placed in a medically induced coma. His friend sustained broken bones in his face, a laceration over his left eye and a blood clot in his right eye.

The West Point Chief of Police Tim Brinkley, who is white, said the attack by the mob was not a […] → Keep reading

The Impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama

It has been nearly impossible to miss all the talk of impeaching President Obama. Many conservatives, including Sarah Palin, are strongly advocating for impeachment, while Speaker of the House John Boehner and others have come out against it. A CNN poll released last week shows that a third of the American public believes Obama should be impeached. To my mind, the desire to see Obama impeached has grown out of the anger people have for his abuse of power, his disastrous policies and his refusal to enforce immigration laws. At one time I was on the impeachment bandwagon myself, but have come to realize that impeaching Obama would be the wrong thing to do, for several reasons.

Just in the last few days, the Democrats seem to be hoping for impeachment. Dan Pfeiffer, senior advisor to the president, told the press last Friday that impeachment should not be considered a long shot. He said that Boehner’s lawsuit has “opened the […] → Keep reading
