Oklahoma Democrats Debate: Why Do Republicans Think They Are More Religious?

The Eastern Oklahoma County Democrats have announced that at their next monthly meeting there will be a discussion/debate that caught my attention. I’ll let them explain it:

DemoOkie – The Eastern Oklahoma County Democrats are having their monthly meeting on Thursday, February 12 at 7 p.m. in the back of AFGE Union Hall, at the corner of SE 44th & Douglas Blvd, Midwest City (across from Tinker AFB). If you need a ride, please call Steve Covert at 259-9884.

We are going to have a discussion and/or debate on “Why do Republicans believe they are more religious?”. The event will be monitored by Stephen Covert, thus it will be fair to all.

The core of our discussion will be sent to the three newspapers in East Oklahoma County, the Oklahoman, other newspapers in Oklahoma County, the two NPR radio stations and other radio stations. I will email the event to the interested parties twice. Each debate individual is expected to […] → Keep reading

An Evil Bigger Than Islam

The barbarity of Islam has been front and center in the news lately. The murder and beheadings of captive journalists, the savage massacres of Christians and threats against America all culminated late last week with the beheading of a woman in Moore, Oklahoma by a Muslim convert. The shock value of such actions is inescapable and leaves people wondering just what kind of person could inflict such horrible acts on another human being. What’s lost on people is that such horror has been going on all over the world for decades, with Americans being at the forefront of the butchery. And your tax dollars are paying for a lot of it.

If you haven’t already guessed, I’m referring to abortion. Since abortion became legal in 1973 there have been more than 57 million abortions in the United States and more than 1.35 billion worldwide. One of the leading providers of abortion in America is Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood provides around […] → Keep reading

Taxpayer Funded PBS Promotes Late Term Abortion

When I first read of the plans by PBS to broadcast a 90-minute program intended to “humanize” late-term abortion ‘doctors’ I knew I had to write a post about it. In doing research I came across Matt Walsh’s blog post about the program and I found it to be absolutely brilliant. Everything I wanted to say about this vile program and the evil that is abortion, Matt said it better. I’m reposting a portion of Matt’s post and you will find it well worth your time to click the link to Matt’s blog and finish reading his post.

Dear PBS,

This is quite the bold move. As a third rate, tax subsidized broadcasting outfit with a viewership in the single digits, I’d expect you’d try your best to fly under the radar. There is, after all, no conceivable reason for you to exist, nor is there a solid justification for spending tax money to keep afloat an irrelevant television […] → Keep reading

The Ice Bucket Challenge: Be Careful What You’re Funding

Unless you’ve been in a coma you’re probably seen dozens and dozens of videos of people doing the ice bucket challenge in recent weeks. For the uninformed, here’s how it works. Within 24 hours of being challenged, people are supposed to video themselves dumping ice water over their heads or having someone else dump ice water over their heads. The video is supposed to include the person saying they accept the challenge followed by the pouring of the ice water over their heads. The person then gets to challenge other people to do the same. Those taking the challenge are supposed to donate ten dollars to ALS research or decline the challenge and donate one hundred dollars.

The ALS Association is the charity most associated with the ice bucket challenge and is the principal charity benefitting from it, having received over $100 million in donations since the challenge began. But what is it they’re funding? Christians taking the challenge and […] → Keep reading

Liberals and ISIS: Two Peas In A Pod

A not-so-surprising Pew Research Center Poll has shown that Democrats fear the fictional man-made global warming more than the Islamic terrorist group, ISIS. Sixty-eight percent of Democrats polled said global warming is a major threat to the U.S. while only sixty-five percent said the same for ISIS. If the ISIS terrorists read this they will be horrified to think that there are Americans who fear weather more than them.

While I was pondering the implications of this poll it occurred to me that ISIS has qualities that should appeal to those on the left. They may even want to send volunteers to the Middle East to conduct voter outreach and registration drives.

The two main things that ISIS is known for is their savage butchery and beheadings, and their attempt to wipe out Christianity from the areas which they control. If you don’t see where I’m going yet, stay with me on this.

To my mind, the butchery […] → Keep reading

Heating Hospitals by Burning Aborted Babies

I have been reading in the news for the past couple of days about hospitals in Great Britain that were found to have incinerated the bodies of thousands of aborted babies as clinical waste, with some being used to heat hospitals. The remains of at least 15,500 were incinerated by twenty-seven National Health Services locations over the last two years. There has been outrage from some British health officials, but some only seem concerned that proper notifications weren’t made. “I am disappointed [NHS] trusts may not be informing or consulting women and their families,” said Prof Sir Mike Richards, Chief Inspector of Hospitals. He seems to be saying that heating hospitals by burning aborted babies is just fine, as long as women and their families are notified and give consent.

What these hospitals have done should come as no surprise to anyone. When society decrees that babies are mere tissue to be removed and disposed of whenever desired, why […] → Keep reading

Christians and the Culture War

Todd Starnes wrote a column yesterday in which he asked if Christians have lost the culture war. He says that over the past few years he has documented hundred of incidents of religious persecution in the United States and that the targets have always been Christians. I have written several posts about these incidents myself, including the Pentagon’s war on Christianity and numerous instances of homosexuals targeting Christian business owners who decline to provide services that would violate their religious beliefs. Who would have ever thought that the Internal Revenue Service would inquire about the content of a pro-life group’s prayers when investigating their tax exempt status? Who would have ever thought that military chaplains would be ordered to stop praying in the name of Jesus?

Starnes mentions a study done by Lifeway Research which shows a majority of Protestant pastors believe religious liberty is on the decline. Scott McConnell, vice president of Lifeway Research said, “Half of Americans […] → Keep reading

The Media: Democrats Don’t Lie

Democrats don’t lie. That’s what the media tells us. For decades now the media has been the self-appointed protectors of Democrats, shielding them from political fallout and spinning their lies into ‘gaffes’ or ’embellishments.’ The IRS scandal. Benghazi. Fast and Furious. The NSA. Veterans. Obamacare and many other scandals. The public has been lied to, blatantly, time and time again by the Obama administration and their friends in the media who cover for the Democrats. Hillary Clinton has been protected on Benghazi. Eric Holder has been protected on Fast and Furious. Andrew Cuomo has been protected after saying that conservatives should just leave New York. And now Wendy Davis, Texas State Senator running for Governor, is being protected after lies in her bio have been exposed by a left leaning reporter.

Details about when she was married, had a child, got divorced and how her education was financed were all “blurred,” according to the Dallas Morning News. Or “fuzzy facts” […] → Keep reading

Abortion Queen Wendy Davis: “I’m in”

The abortion queen says she’s in. Texas State Senator Wendy Davis has begun telling prominent Democrats in the state that she will be running for Governor next year. She will likely be up against Republican Greg Abbott, currently the Texas attorney general. Until a few months ago I had never heard of Davis. But, as Tom Dart wrote for The Guardian, “The state senator from Fort Worth became an overnight celebrity in June, as a result of her 11-hour filibuster against restrictive new abortion legislation.” Being reelected in 2012, her term as Senator would ordinarily not be up until 2016, but earlier this year the Texas senators drew for terms in a post-redistricting, once a decade process and Davis drew a two year term. If she loses the gubernatorial election next year she will not have a Senate term to complete.

Her voting record as Senator is largely unknown outside of Texas, except of course for the abortion bill. Mark […] → Keep reading

The Killers Among Us

They went to their deaths by the millions. Some had long journeys before reaching the place of their death. They didn’t know they were going to die upon their arrival. Their lives were brutally ended.

Their killers had no shame. No regret. No hesitation. Cold. Calculated. Methodical. Efficient. The instruments of death varied. Each killer had his own tools and his own preferred method. They profited from their murders. The more they killed; the more wealth they acquired.

There were many places for the killing to take place. After all, there was a lot of killing to do. People knew what was going on. Some openly said it was better for everyone if the killing continued. Some said it was better for those killed if they were dead. Those killed were not wanted. They were undesirables. Some were killed for having handicaps. Mental handicaps. Physical handicaps.

The lives of those killed were not relevant. Their rights were not […] → Keep reading
